Fibroblast
skin tightening
What is Fibroblast skin tightening and how does it work?
Fibroblast is an innovative treatment with results which you would normally only expect after surgery but there are no scalpels and no suturing involved.

Fibroblast skin tightening is considered a "soft surgery" that treats a variety of skin concerns. Plasma is considered the 4th state of matter and is created when gases in the air are ionized with the help of a Plasma Pen. A small plasma charge known as an arc is created and used to treat problematic skin without spreading the charge to surrounding skin. The fluids of the treated area is sublimated (converted directly to vapour) using the plasma beam without damage to the deep skin or muscle and without any unwanted heat transmission to adjacent tissue.

The goal of most minimally invasive treatments is to induce selective dermal injury which results in the wound repair response; while keeping the surrounding epidermis intact. In response to the induced dermal injury, the healing process begins to stimulate the fibroblast with deposition and reorientation of collagen bundles.

Using the Plasma Pen we are able to treat very specific areas of the epidermis without affecting the surrounding skin or risk of damaging deeper layers of the skin.
What conditions does Fibroblast skin tightening treat?
Fibroblast skin tightening is ideal to treat a number of concerns such as:
-
Eyelid lifting (non-surgical blepharoplasty)
-
Forehead wrinkle tightening
-
Eyebrow lift
-
Under eye tightening
-
General Wrinkle tightening
-
Crows feet
-
Marionette lines
-
Face lifting and tightening
-
Smokers lines
-
neck skin tightening
-
tummy skin tightening
-
light scaring
-
age spots

What can I expect for the healing process?
Immediately after treatment, there may be a tight and slight burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken. Swelling is common in the eye lid treatments and can last for several days. The swelling may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling.
Dotted crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It may take 3 days up to 2 weeks to completely disappear. To maximise the effects of your Fibroblast treatment we advise to keep the crustations/discoloration intact for 5-7 days and do not rub them off immediatly.
Keep the treated area clean, away from excessive moisture and protected using a broad spectrum sunscreen. Mineral make-up may be applied from the third day of the treatment onwards. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold until it has healed. .
